This plant needs to be started off in a smaller pot/seed tray indoors for 6-8 weeks. When starting plants indoors you will need to slowly introduce the sunlight to them. You can do this by starting off by taking them outside for a few hours and then the next day leave them out longer and the next day even longer until for about 2 weeks.

Water the plants a day before moving from the seed tray to the ground.

Plant in 6 inch holes 12 inches apart. Water after moving them.

Water during times without any rain.
