Aubergine

Aubergine

Aubergine or eggplant plant with aubergine or eggplant attached

Planting guide

Aubergines prefer really hot weather and are difficult to grow outdoors in england, they do however do well in a greenhouse.

This plant needs to be started off in a smaller pot/seed tray indoors for 6-8 weeks. When starting plants indoors you will need to slowly introduce the sunlight to them. You can do this by starting off by taking them outside for a few hours and then the next day leave them out longer and the next day even longer until for about 2 weeks.

It is a good idea to plant multiple seeds at once in the same spot and weed out the weakest ones and leave the strongest to grow. Some of your seeds may not germinate but this is natural and the reason we plant multiple seeds.

Remove the remaining flowers when 5-6 fruits have grown.

Planting Months

January - April

Harvest Months
